FEED (haiti too)
FEED THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD
The devastation of the Haitian earthquake and the deaths of around 100,00 Haitians have made me pause and think about ways that we can help. The organization, FEED, co-founded by Lauren Bush and Ellen Gustafson, is a prime example of an organization that is reaching out to serve others. FEED focuses on giving the gift of food and education to hungry children in Kenya and around the world with the simple purchase of a burlap bag.
See below to help FEED support and maintain the World Food Program School Feeding project in the Haitian effort.
Post by Ellen Gustafson:The UN World Food Program has been operating in Haiti in 1969. In 2009, WFP School Feeding reached over 400,000 Haitian children in 850 primary schools. In emergencies, funds are drawn from long-term development programs, like school feeding, to provide immediate support for victims. In response to the devastating earthquake, the FEED Foundation has established a FEED Haiti fund, specifically to maintain WFP School Feeding in Haiti during this critical time.
